The Versatility of Sheridan Tjhung
META designer Sejun Park highlights sustainable designer Sheridan Tjhung’s versatile approach to handcrafted collections.
Chinese-Australian artisan florist turned accessories designer Sheridan Tjhung established her venture ‘Sheridan Tjhung Accoutrements’ in 2018 with a core mission on creating refreshing, luxury design with "functional opulence." The endeavor bloomed out of Tjhung's successful early floristry and set design career, in which she cultured her dark, romantic aesthetic, often including delicate and exotic flowers, draped ribbons, and fruits to create magical yet elegant sets and pieces. Tjhung's accessories draw from her intricate and detail-oriented experience, allowing her to create distinct, celestial pieces that have been worn by artists like Billie Eilish, Bad Bunny, Charli XCX, Ciara, Steve Lacy, Becky G, Grimes, and more. She has also collaborated with designers like Christian Cowan and Giamattista Valli, debuting at New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week in 2020.
Tjhung's products are all handmade in Perth, Western Australia by local artisans including herself, blending organic, floral forms with draping ribbons and luxury materials to create veils, necklaces, bags, and other accessories.
